Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy revolves around the belief that education is not just about transmitting knowledge but about empowering students to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers. By creating a student-centered, curiosity-driven, and intellectually stimulating environment, I aim to equip my students with the skills and mindset necessary for success in their academic pursuits and beyond. I am committed to continuously adapting and refining my teaching methods to meet the evolving needs of my students and to contribute positively to their educational journey.

Research Profile

My long-term research goals are to improve the health of dairy cattle and to improve the sustainability of the dairy enterprise. My main areas of research are:

– Uterine microbiology and immunology in health and disease – Epidemiological investigation of the risk factors for uterine diseases – Development and evaluation of therapies for the prevention and treatment of uterine diseases – The use of herd simulation models and budget impact analysis to understand how uterine disease and impaired fertility affect the profitability of dairy herds.

Currently, I am investigating the origin of the uterine microbiome and the intersection between the uterine microbiome, metabolome, and the immune system in dairy cows to understand the etiology of uterine diseases.
